In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been spending the past week updating the infrastructure of Son and Foe to make things more robust, user-friendly, and feature-rich. The new store is a big part of that, and so is the totally-awesome archive that will revolutionize… well, us, anyway. Aside from some other behind-the-scenes stuff, there’s also this: the new Weblog. Aside from a fancier name (Adventrous Song instead of just blog.sonandfoe.com), what really makes it better is that it is powered by Word Press instead of Serendipity. Not that Serendipity’s all bad! In fact, it has some really neat features. But Word Press is more mature and, perhaps most importantly, has a better UI that will allow more people to work on the blog just that much easier.
Now that I’m finished with this, about the only thing left is to figure out how to make current.sonandfoe.com be all that it can be, too (namely, allow updates through a GUI, instead of hand-coding the entire site, as I’m forced to do now).
In any case, here is the new and improved blog; all the old posts have been imported. Comments were lost, and links to files (such as in the review of the Tossers) won’t work anymore. Ah well! Such is the price of progress. This change, at least, should have us covered for years to come.
Stability is a good thing.
